But can we talk about how a woman over 25 is in a fighting game
Now don't get me wrong SNK did this nearly 2 decades ago but what other games had a physically older woman in a fighter?. Sonya being 51(?) and is a regular human and shows she can hang with the rest of the cast makes me proud of NR.
As messy as the outfits were in 9 I didn't expect them to actually add an older woman.
When will punk ass Namco and Harada?

You must have forgotten about Hilde who was 18 in SCIV and aged in SCV.

I wouldn't give NR too much credit, Sonya still looks like she could be in her 20s, not much older than how Jun, Nina or Anna looks imo.
I do like that they really calm down on the overly sexualised outfit, it was so embarrassing in MK9. Also Jade pole dancing was ridiculous and so out of her character. So yeah, NR did improve big time with the women. But I still don't think they are doing it better than other companies, just better by their own standards.

Sonya could look older, time has been kind to her unlike Cage who really looks like he aged those 25 years, but i'd put her in 30s based on looks, not 20s.
@CFW
Still a slap in the face the amount of older women SCV cut, and Ivy got the Nina/Anna treatment.

I think Sonya looks older than u guys think she looks.

She looks fantastic and I do appreciate NRS for not making up a ridiculous story to keep her young. With all the crazy magic foolishness the MK world has going on they could've easily went that route so I'm thankful that they didn't. The story at least acknowledges her as a mother of someone in their 20's, and however old Sonya is (is it really 51??) I think a woman who keeps in as good of shape as she does could easily look like that. They could have aged her face a tad more I guess. Sindel had a mature-r face than the rest of the girls in MK9 and still looked better than all of them so.
Other games should take note though. Older women have so much potential to be so fierce. Look at Reinhilde from Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume. Serve me Grandmutha.

Yes she's 51 she was 26 in 9. Slay momma.
Soul Calibur V was so offensive in many ways and it needs to be reversed.

I thought the point of this thread was to point out women in fighting games over 25 but nevermind.
