Tekken 7: Where Is The Story Going?

Post by No78 on July 23rd 2012, 4:02 pm

Thread for story ideas for 7, basically.

I often think about this, and the most difficult thing is that I can never be sure what the intended true ending for Tekken 6 is.

I would say Lars is the central character of 6 and probably will win, but he has no ending movie. The ending movies that seem to coincide are Jin, Kazuya and Zafinas. The way I've ordered it in my head is that Jin beats up Azazel, the dark sphere thing sucks the dark out of Jin, then Zafina grabs it off him, then Kazuya comes out with unconscious Jin. But, we throw Lars into the mix and just say he beat up everyone and ended the war?

What exactly is that dark sphere in Azazel all about, anyway?

How do you think Tekken 6 ended and what do you think will happen in 7? On a general scale or just with certain characters?

Or maybe, what do you want to happen?

Ideas, go!

Jin should stay dead or if SC is not canon make Kazuya win the 6th tournament.
Heihachi would be fitting aswell since he's apparently young forever idk how they'll explain that but his tekken 6 ending was a joke.

Nina's story should involve Steve again like tekken 4 and maybe Anna in that too, i'd like her to interact with Lee again aswell...I think Xiao should stop following Jin everywhere and do her own things...

Jun needs to come back and sort shit out. Probably just being biased here bc I love her but I mean she has major story potential.

Jin needs to stop being a cunty baby. I also don't know how young Heihachi will affect the canon story, since I think he's permanently like that???

They confirmed he'll be young forever, His old voice actor died
and they decided to let go of the old character aswell, which does sound stupid

they just need good explanations

Perhaps he mixed the ogre blood with the devil gene and it made him eternally youthful...

And where did they confirm he'll be young forever? TT2 is non-canon, story plots from that won't be continued... phonebiblio

Heihachi will be killed off imo, and its about time.

As for T6 to T7, since they put so much "effort" into SC mode, i have a feeling that could be the canon story. Or at least count for 70% of the canon, with arena mode accounting for some and events that never happened but look good on paper gettin there as well (ie stuff like Asuka beating up Lili in T5 even though they never interacted once in the actual game).

As a result of SC being canon, Jin shouldn't be there. But i doubt that'll happen, namco would be shootin themselves in the foot. Although it would have perfect story reasons and would've been expected from T6, the majority of dumb story fans won't accept it cos they can't handle the loss of a character.

What direction T7 will take, idk. If Jin and Hei r out of the picture, i can see Kaz takin the MZ. Lars doesn't seem interested in it, but his story in T7 will probably revolve around him wantin it to make it a good company or something...

Also, as much as i'd love for Jun to come back, it won't happen. Her return to a canon game will force the writers to deal with the mess they've created. They waited too long to bring her back without so many questions, it'll never happen. T6 was the perfect time to make her return and they missed it.

Will Tekken 7 even happen...
With the way things are things are just such a mess I'm not even sure they could work.

I think we can all agree Jin would be missing, but if they failed to include him they'd probably be losing some players (because people like him for some reason I completely fail to fathom). Who is to say he couldn't be included in the game and not the story? That's how DOA deals with stuff.

I don't know if the Hei section in SC mode is canon or not, but I'd assume so. If they were to ignore it Hei is still MIA and he could totally have died and been reincarnated in the womb of eternal youth or whatever.

They can get Bass' new voice actor to voice old Heihachi since he sounds like Daisuke.
Bass and Heihachi shared the same japanese voice actor anyway so it can work

And Jun is coming back in some form, Harada said he wanted to continue her's and Kazuya's story, whatever that means.
It could mean a retro story like a past story leading up to Jin's conception.

I don't know what to believe about this Heihachi nonsense. They might make it so Lars wins the tournament, and Heihachi pops up suddenly all youthful and powerful again, to reclaim what he's lost. He already is kind of rivalled to Lars, in a way. Their little interaction in SC shows us that...

If they do it well it might be decent, but right now I just don't really like the idea. I'd prefer for Heihachi to get even older. It's not ridiculous, he's already survived being hurled off a cliff and being exploded on by a number of humanoid robots. Age is clearly not a big deal to him.

Maybe Heihachi will just forever remain as a character in the game, has a story but canonically he never appears.

What if Heihachi got with Jun and then Jin had a weird half uncle brother?

I posted this on ATRL

This seems plausible.

Kazumi is not related to Jun, her bloodline is where the devil gene comes from. It was always assumed to come from Heihachi, but the Jinpachi story was a red-herring; he was possessed by an evil ghost or something.

Tbh i don't really recall what i thought of the Jinpachi other than "fuck sake, they're bringing an older mishima", i don't think i gave his demon version much thought. If i did i probably threw it in the same boat as the supposed Kazuya "sold my soul for power" thing that may have been goin on

Yeah I just assumed it was the devil gene and I think they intended for that, but that's not the case...

I saw someone on Reddit trying to suggest that this game will take place between T2 and T3... No at how that would entirely mess up the story.

Can people not get into the idea of Kazumi's scenes/dialogue (if it is Kazumi but we know it is) being a flashback. I mean i do think she'll be in the game and all, but she ain't gonna pop up in front of Kazuya, tell him Hei killed ha and then he'll go apeshit.

Yes besides we literally saw old Kazuya and Heihachi about to face-off in a volcano so whoever said that on Reddit needs to reconsider their theory majorly...
