I'm guessin Tekken 7 won't come out until 2016, so let's talk about the console version and what we want mmmmmmmmmmmk?

Offline:


  • Customization mode - I want them to fuse T6 and TT2's together to make like literally the best customization for Tekken. It would be cool if it were like VF5FS's. Give us back old customization items from T5DR and T6. PLEASE let us be able to change the default hair color. It hurt my feelings in Tekken 6 when I couldn't have Anna's blonde wig with her military hat. Y'all can remove the custom hair tho, I ain't got the patience for that. Also, pls don't exclude custom options when choosing costumes. Anna's stockings are iconic and it really sucked when I couldn't recreate her look in her and Nina's endings in T6. 

- PLEASE do not force us to take a damn picture after we're finished customizing and then have the audacity to NOT have the option to change poses or backgrounds. Literally wtf was that.
-  Better casual clothing items would be nice. Anna's breasts look so pointy in her custom tops in Tag 2.
- Characters need to have their own items this time.


  • Ghost mode - This is pretty much a staple mode, and I prefer playing this as opposed to playing arcade mode 8000 times. Tag 2's ghost mode wasn't as great, because there was no option to download your friend's ghost data like you could in 6.
  • Practice mode - Tag 2's practice mode was pretty good, but there should be a type of trials option where you can perform a character's sample combos. This can be really helpful for beginners. Command training should be implemented too.
  • Fight Money - Let's make it so you can use this for other than customization. Like for a theater/museum mode.
  • Theater/Museum - Add a bunch of concept art/videos for characters and stages that can be unlocked by buying with fight money.


Replays:

  • I'm not sure how the PS4 works, but it would be nice if they saved to the HUD like SCV does on PS3. This might be useless, because of streaming now.
  • Can we like upload more than one replay to our online profiles thanx??????


Online:

  • Online titles would be cute.
  • Option to turn off customization, because sometimes people shouldn't be allowed to play w ugly customs in my rooms tbh.
  • Tag 2's online options were pretty good, but I would prefer if the room layout was like SCV's. 
  • We should be able to seamlessly enter rooms without having to wait until a match is over to watch.
  • Improved netcode (this is gonna be an obvious one they do).
  • Improved ranking mode. I demotion matches 3 times in a row last night and lost all of them, but didn't get demoted?


Misc:

  • Costume selection should be like older Tekkens. If you wanna have a look at what costumes you're picking then like press start. You can assign what costumes you wanted to a button.
  • The option to change where the cursor on the character select is. I love Jun, but I use Anna 98% of the time. Why was this taken out?
  • Tekken Tunes must return.
  • I wanna be able to change the default menu background like I could in Tekken 6. The stages were perfect for it in tag 2, but they missed out. Tekken 7's stages are looking good, so I hope they put that back and I imagine the loading times will be much better.
  • Make the new flipped camera thing an option for online mode. I'm sure I'm not the only one that literally HATES the 2P sides. 
  • I want Anna's T5 bangs.
  • And her lil thot dress from Tekken 6.

- I'd like for them to do the music like in Smash Wii U. Basically each stage has a new song, and a few songs from previous titles. Like the jungle stage would have that godawful dubstep track, the TTT2 Brazil theme, the T4 jungle theme etc. and you choose how frequently you want each song to play during a match. That would be fun especially incorporated with Tekken Tunes.

- Tekken 4-esque endings but better quality.

- More character exclusive customizations with more retro outfits.

- Kazumi as a playable character please god

- If the women get hoe outfits I expect equally hoe outfits for the men. TTT2's fundoshis were kinda a step in the right direction I guess?? Naked =/= hoe though

- Williams sisters character development

- The museum idea is genius and I would die if that happened. I think they had one in T5DR but they had the bikini artwork of Michelle labelled as Julia so it was dead to me.

- AT LEAST one member of the Tekken 2 flawless cut-from-the-roster female character holy trinity to return. Though I demand all three.

IDC about anyone getting a hoe outfit but Anna's Tekken 6 secondary is the outfit of choice. There's no comparison, like u might as well go home cuz nobody else could ever.

Better customisation. Like T6's was fine, if it had a colour wheel like TT2. TT2 kinda improved where T6's needed it, but took back so many steps at the same time. They have their flaws and good points.

Del's music suggestion sounds cute, i'd like that.

I want Story mode to return properly, ala T4 / T5. No T6 Scenario campaign, and no random ending unlockables. Make me play as everyone at least once. Scenario Campaign can come back as a side mode, but as that golden oldie called Tekken Force. If it does comeback, PLEASE don't tie customs with stats. I don't wanna make my character uglee to do well in it. Let me pick my own ugleeness.

Finally, Tekken Ball. Make it happen madonna

And if i'm gonna be forced into a training room while waiting between ranked matches, gimme the choice between walls and infinite and other stage gimmicks. Gimme wake up options. Just give me all of the training mode options actually. Despite popular opinion, there is more to tekken than juggles, and if i have to train juggles it's better to learn the wall carry and wall follow ups.

Mess!! I forgot about this!!! Makin' me use Julia in a cowboy hat and purple ass kung-fu pants. The product of my gay nightmares. If they do partners though I need to be able to switch Alisa for more cute and unique conversations between characters. I imagine that'd be hard to do, but I'mma wish for it anyways.

I wish for Julia to come back with her Jaycee fighting style, but as herself. Wrestling and Kung Fu hybrid is fun shush. fat

No matter what bring back the colour wheel, that thing was a godsend. But please allow for default hair colour changing. I would so love to make Leo a redhead still to this day.

End Hwoarang and Jin's rivalry, he got his win, you took it away with Jin's BS devil side and somehow you continue to keep them together. It's not funny or interesting. Stop.

Give Steve back his stun. I miss it.

I think the Tekken Dojo from T5DR PSP would be a nice alternative to ghost if they don't have time for SC or TF.

That is all my petty needs.

Tekken tunes needs to return.
Saving replays is not an issue since the share button takes 15 minutes of footage and it has a streaming option for twitch and ustream.

I love the idea about concept art. Since this is the last tekken game about the mishimas I expect concept art for all the past tekken games and ideas on what could have been.

Not sure how the story will go but I have a feeling it could go like MK or like Tekken 5 for each character.

Harader says the story is too dark which is kinda makin me think it'll be more theatrical. d r a m a

I didn't have an issue with SC mode, I quite liked it. I'd like to see it return. I haven't played the other story modes in past games so I wouldn't know the differences. 

People are sayin (or at least wanting) that it'll be 8 months after arcade release for a console version. I don't think it's that simple at all. From the initial release of TTT2 in arcades to console release date, it took exactly one year. For Tekken 6 it was 2 I think. 

There might be an update version like TTT2 to TTT2U. That could take months too.

Tekken 6 took a long ass time due to the updates and SC.
Also we have UE4 this time so I don't think it will take as long but then again the console version will very likely have a story mode of some sort.

I expect tons of things in the console version so I don't expect it until at least october of next year at the earliest. Depends on content and dev work.

I think it took a long time too with PS3 being difficult to dev on, so maybe it might be a little faster than Tekken 6.

It's just with Tag 2, there wasn't really a full on story mode with long ass dramatic cutscenes, semi-improved customization, a sorta tutorial mode, and some interesting features. 

For the release date I was thinkin Q3-Q4 2016 too. I h8 this.

And DOA has been doing that since DOA2 (never played DOA1 so idk if it has its own tag mode) but the fact that other fighters has it is not the point. My point is that it'll make Tekken Tag series less special. If Tekken continues to have a tag mode in the main series, there is literally no point in another TTT game. Sure, there is the returning characters that only get to show up in that, but that's not the main focus. Those returning chars are a bonus.

Don't get me wrong, if T7 has a tag mode i'd play it. I just don't want it.

SC mode was qt, just not as the story focus of Tekken 6. The Arena it has, the 4 stage arcade-esque thing, was basically a shorter version of T4/T5 story mode without some mid fight cutscenes. If most of the endings it gave kind of related to the reason the person entered the latest tournament, it woulda had some more merit.

The reason T6 took so long imo was BR. Whether it was planned from the start or midway through developing T6.0 ps3 version is another point entirely, but it was for BR to have its time in the arcades to shine. There were complaints from arcade folk that T5 arcade to console release was too short.

DOA and Tekken are two different games. DOA's tag mode is pretty much a staple of the series by now. Gameplay changes and move properties aren't that drastic. 

Adding a tag mode in a main Tekken game would only cause problems. It wouldn't work the same, and at the end of the day it would basically be like balancing two different games. I don't think it's worth it, because they would have to completely rework the tag engine again. 

That's what I think, anyway. I can be wrong. Plus, it's pretty much tradition by now.

That part about the T5 players would make some sense... I think. What was that time between T5 and T6 arcade? Like 2-3 years?

Ya, around that gap But i was just talking about the time between arcade and console release for the same game, not sequels. T5 was only in arcades for a few months before the ps2 release. Not sure how it impacted the arcade exactly since the mean area is Japan/Korea and TT2 is still chugging there to this day, but i recall the short release gap being cited negatively a number of times in that regard during T6 console release talks

Why do you need for there to be a point in the Tag series? Exactly. There really is no point in the TTT spin-offs. Why not have tag mode in every game and never have Tekken Tag ever again? Is that really a big deal?

If there were never a Tekken Tag 1, you wouldn't care about it. And quite frankly, it delays the story. We could have had T7 two years ago already and been done with that part of the story. But no. We get this big 6+ year gap between T6 before we get to see what happens next in T7. That's a long time to wait and see what happens next in the story. We coulda been had Tekken 7 and be on Tekken 8 by now.

The Tag games are also no excuse to bring back certain characters. They can bring them back in any game in verses mode if they're not featured in the story, whether they're missing or dead or whatever. A dead character can still be playable for the sake of versus.

At least think about it objectively before you reply, if you reply.

If Tekken tag 1 never existed, i'd say alot of people probably wouldn't make a big deal over Tag mode for Tekken since we never would've been introduced to it and just happily lived our lives with 1v1 as the main series has continued to give us.

And because Tekken Tag happens doesnt necessarily mean we would've got the next main tekken entry at that time. If anything, it can help the story since they'll naturally have more time to think of different routes to take it and what to do. Sure, they may have decided what the Mishimas will be doing, but there are other members of the cast too. Plus, if they don't have to focus on a tag mode for the next entry, they can focus on creating new mechanics and balancing them for 1v1. They don't have to worry about 2v2 or 2v1. B! is gone so if Tag appears in T7, it'll need reworked, because TA! as we know it will be gone. And if they go ahead with it, I doubt they'll ditch 2v1 that fast after the trouble of doing it for TT2, so they'll probably throw that back in, which is more time into trying to make the core game work.

The reason they can come back without question is because they are non-canon. Sure, canon Tekken games have non-canon scenarios (ie T5 - Heihachi actually missed the entire thing, he was never there) but they still think up a story. Do you not realise the absolute backlash they'll receive if they finally bring someone back into a canon game but they get cut from the story altogether? Not even an arcade ending (cause remember, thats where tekken's story lies). If they did it before, then fine. But they haven't. I don't expect Tekken to change up the formula in that regard for its main series.

And if they go that route, then there is literally no reason to ever ditch a character. Once again, the severe backlash they'll receive if even death can't stop a character from being cut but being 30 years old and having breasts does.

And why do I need the tag games to have a point? The tag games are like a celebration of the series thus far, its fan service and a nice breath of fresh air with the tag mechanics. Between TTT and TT2, i wasn't looking for Tekken to have tag mode return. I was looking for TT2 to be announced. Why do you need T7 to have a tag mode and ditch Tag series? Tekken is not DOA. Just because it does the tag mode in every game and dead/missing but playable character things doesnt mean Tekken should.

What resources?

The time and man power it'll take to do the new tag mechanics, new tag specific animations (moves, win poses, intros), testing, balancing. It's impossible for it to be a simple copy and paste from TT2. 1v1 is already different, 2v2 naturally would be too.
