Viola when she gets ROed

I was really excited about Viola, but she seems really disappointing and plain. I want to put in some more time with her, see if I can make her do anything interesting or fun, but she just seems bland.

I thought that with that crystal ball she'd be hard to use but fun, she's just tricky. There's not a great deal of fun or style in her move set.

I have a male Viola soul, but tbf I think I'll play her more because I love the shit she comes out with.

Really? I find her to be extremely interesting. She has so many mind games and options at all times with the orb.
I like her a lot. Def going to main her.

Anything she does with the orb can be cancelled by her being hit though, and without it her range isn't great. I think it's gonna be real tough to play with her.

I take back what I said. I've pretty much played only as her since then.

As a result I got carried away in my Japanese lesson.

I love her, her character is amazing, and her movelist is flawless.

I hate how namco decided to balance her though. She needs to do more damage. WAY more. Specially her CE. Other characters have their CE attached to bars, because if they used it constantly they would be overpowered. If Viola was able to use her CE constantly, she would just be annoying.
It just feels like a really stupid move by namco, if you're going to introduce a new character, make them balanced or slightly higher tier, so people will WANT TO PLAY THEM.

I get that I'm still pretty new with her, and haven't mastered her yet, but even when the superhuman AI is using her, she's attacking constantly, but life takes forever to come down. Her damage output is just unfairly weak.

A lot of the characters got nerfed Ivy has no stances, Mits lost his relic stance and Leixia has none of what made Xianghua deadly.
On a gameplay standpoint i am mad as hell about that.

Yeah, Viola's CE is crap as hell. Right now i only use it to get a free unblockable, but even then thats weak as hell and does less dmg than all other CEs.

There r probably ways to combo into it to make it slighty more useful, but even then it only does like 8 dmg after all hits and if ur not making it land while they are standing then its pretty useless.

If it doesn't have decent ring out potential which hasn't been found yet, it's hands down one of the worst CE's in the game.

I have a Viola "Soul" he's only one size taller than her but his damage is mega nerfed. He does 90% of her already tiny damage and still has no reach at all.

I usually use her CE to break the opponents momentum.

Like I'll do BBB, and when the last B calls the orb, go into CE right away.
If they block it, I'll jump in with (I think it's) 1A+B, which hits low, and they end up floating in the CE for a bit.
If they don't block it, I'll throw in an AA while the orb is hitting them, and end with a launcher or throw.

Why isn't this her main theme? it shits so hard
