Re: Nintendo Thread
Did you all hear about the NX coming out globally next year in March? Also, apparently we're only getting shown Zelda Wii U at e3.. I hope Nintendo will be smart and allow people to play Wii U games on it, I want Pokken, Pikmin 3 and Bayonetta 2..but I don't want a Wii U, especially not now if NX is out in less than a year.
And apparently Animal Crossing may come to mobile..that could be cute.

They're not showing any other games at all?

Re: Nintendo Thread
Apparently so.. tbh I get the feeling Nintendo are going all out to make the NX launch the best it can be. So many of their games have been poor lately, that I think they can't afford to fail any more.
Re: Nintendo Thread
How am I supposed to be hype for E3 when my fave company is showing a game I'm most likely not going to play? At least I'll be slightly interested in the characters, Zelda's design and the possibility of changing Link's gender but other than that.

Re: Nintendo Thread
They didn't say it was just gonna be Zelda but they said it'll have a heavy focus on it. I adore the Zelda characters and lore but only ever completed Wind Waker so far tbh, I always lose interest when I get stuck. I'll likely still pick up the new one though. Hoping for a female Link option because...why the fuck not tbh.

Re: Nintendo Thread
I guess when people are saying that, they probs mean it's the only big Wii U title then? I know Pokémon Sun and Moon are suppose to get a lot of attention this year and I cannot wait for that.
I only have some random DS Zelda phantom hourglass or something..and that forces you to do everything with the stylus and while it's cute, the controls bother me too much to continue and also have Majora's Mask on 3DS, which I was so getting into but stop when I couldn't find a final golden spider thingy and got disheartened.

Re: Nintendo Thread
I mean they still need to show more of games like the Wii U version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (for those who are into it, I think it looks pretty cute). It comes out 10 days after E3 but still.

Re: Nintendo Thread
I still have hardly touched the first one tbh so I haven't bought any of the other M&S games tbh. I'm so lazy I can't be bothered setting up the motion stuff and being ~active~ but the games are cute, I just wish they'd use the crossover elsewhere beside these licensed games like...a crossover RPG, fighter, kart game, or platformer would slay my life. Like pleathe

Re: Nintendo Thread
I definitely agree with what he said. You kinda don't think of Japanese devs being arseholes but they're only human so I guess they can be just as bullheaded and egotistical as western ones in pushing their own ideas.
Miyamoto definitely helped create (and get all the credit for, much like Stan Lee) a lot of the big Nintendo IPs and characters but he tries too hard to create new "experiences" and it's just, not always going to work. With the Wii they struck gold luckily, but tastes change, and I don't think those kinds of gimmicks will always stick around. Even Toys to Life, which I thought were doing well right now, is crumbling with Infinity being cancelled by Disney. Sometimes a simple experience is best.
I do think he's a bit out of touch with what most people want. I just don't see Nintendo taking any risks any time soon, and I wish they would. I do think it's about time they revamped their image somewhat, even if it meant not completely abandoning their family friendly image, just...to see them have a bit of edge and go back to basics would be great.

Re: Nintendo Thread
Confirmed hybrid console that works as a handheld and console that is powered by a docking station. Power is between Wii U and PS4.
Re: Nintendo Thread
Sounds perfect for me, I adore Nintendo handhelds and if the console half has no dumb control gimmick, then I'm all over this like a bad rash.

If this handheld can output Wii U graphics i'll be all over that shit.
Re: Nintendo Thread
I feel a handheld is the best approach for nintendo. No one does it like them, and they've really lost their presence as a home console. Mario only gets you so far

It's funny how it's the opposite for Sony but a lot of that is from their own doing. They kind of sabotaged the Vita day one with those expensive cards.
Re: Nintendo Thread
So let's talk Switch. What are your hopes?
If Nintendo are smart, this could be their best console to date, they have so many titles that work great as handhelds, but that other audience that hates handhelds can be satisfied with a console experience now. Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Advance Wars and Fire Emblem series are ones that comes to mind.
Smash, Splatoon and MK8 are obvs getting ports, but I really hope we get ports of Bayonetta 2, Pokken, Wind Waker and Mario Maker too. I kind have others, but they need new games more.

Re: Nintendo Thread
Wasn't great and there were a lot more they could have shown off and everything is so pricey too. But I'm not gonna shit on it, 3DS had a bad first impression and launch and it turned out fine.
Re: Nintendo Thread
Eh im not gonna get hype for it. I mean i have a 3DS and a Wii U both collecting dust... But you know I'll change my mind once mario kart drops

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe can choke for not including Ms. Birdo.

Re: Nintendo Thread
Wait so its actually just a update to MK8? Thats sad, considering they only do one MK release per console

Re: Nintendo Thread
Yeah. Like its not that bad since MK8 was amazing and gorgeous and they're just expanding on it even further and fixing all the minor problems but like I'm not about to buy a brand new version when the only new features I'll use are playing with Dry Bones on one of the new battle courses a couple of times. I think the only way they can get away with doing two Karts on one console is if (God willing) they do another Double Dash.
