Re: SOULCALIBUR VI Hype Train!
Rounding up all the info I can from 8WayRun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Story: The game will take place a year before the first Soulcalibur and focus on events from SC1-SC3. It could possibly be like a MK9 type reboot story.
Gameplay:
Originally, they wanted to incorporate a type of moveset switch mechanic (like MKX), but they just couldn't get it right so they went on hiatus for a while until the current producer, Motohiro Okubo took over.
Meter Management is back. It currently only is required for Critical Edges and Soul Charge.
Soul Charge (4A+B+K or back A+B+K) is returning, but this time is more like a V-trigger from SFV. It's seemingly different for everybody. It gives them access to certain moves. One bar of meter is required, because it drains a full bar for about 10 seconds. Also stops time.
Critical Edges (A+B+K) return. Requires one bar of meter to perform. If it kills it triggers the character to say something at the end.
Reversal Edge (B+G) is the new mechanic, it's built for newer players. It's like a rock/paper/scissors clash mechanic that is easily avoidable. No meter is required and can be activated at any time. Guard Break moves are said to beat them. A (vertical) > K (kick) > B (horizontal). Can also block, backdash, and sidestep.
Throws are all moved to the A+G input to compensate for the inclusion of RE.
Guard Impacts no longer require meter and currently can be used against lows, mids, highs, and throws. Whiffing a GI can deplete your guard crush gauge.
Movement feels much more similar to SC1 and SC2.
Strings like BBB and AAA from SC1 returns.
Characters: 6 characters have been revealed so far.
Returning: Mitsurugi, Sophitia, Nightmare, Xianghua, Kilik
New: Grøh

Re: SOULCALIBUR VI Hype Train!
Father Okubo will be at an event on the 11th of this month and they'll have a stage with SC6 with the devs vs the top SCV Japanese players. It's gonna be Japanese only but I'll post is there's more info on a stream or something.
I think it's gonna be the same build from Evo Japan

Re: SOULCALIBUR VI Hype Train!
I really want some more reveals but I kinda doubt it since the last one was so recent. I'm ready for them to show off Ivy and Taki.

Re: SOULCALIBUR VI Hype Train!
None of the tournament organizers said that SC6 was gonna be a StrontStyle 6 which is a Tekken-centric tournament. Who do that? lmao.
I'll post vids if they show up.

Okay! Shining Decopon and Oosaka are both working on the game. That's interesting.
Here are some vids.
