T4 was such a Cowboy Bebop OST of the series.

Nnnn I'd be the same. T7 is a fine game gameplay wise, but all of the surrounding content is a bust. It might have more content than other fighters out at the moment, but by Tekken standards it's lacking. Poor casuals

Decided to give tournament mode another go since they supposedly fixed the host leaving issue... I get to grand finals winner bracket, sit there waiting for the other matches to catch up. Bang. Room disbands and i have nadda. Trash mode.

Trash competition as well. The other guy in winner's final was a Hwo that only knew b3 and d4,4.

Zafina's popularity dropped because their dumbasses made her bottom-tier in T6BR. Everyone loved her before that. 

Exactly! Like they need to realize that gameplay effectiveness is a major factor that reflects usage. They should know this by now.

Ganryu was kind of great competitively and still flopped.  

That's because he's Ganryu, and he's got one of the most pathetic stories and personality. He's an obsessed and stalkish beta-male which makes him very unappealing as a character. And I don't say this to hate, because I don't hate Ganryu, but I understand why he's unappealing from an objective standpoint. Then again, most of the cast has a terrible story apart from the Mishimas, Kazamas, and a few others, although I'd say Ganryu is among the worst of the worst. With that said, how is Harada  gonna complain about many characters not being popular, but the writers give most of the cast a half-ass story? Clearly most of the care is put into the Mishimas and the characters directly connected to them, and everyone else is just there. Maybe if they actually made the characters more interesting, all of the characters would actually be popular. Heck, the entire series it self would be more popular. If Blizzard can make every single one of their Overwatch characters have an interesting and well-thought out backstory, then Tekken should be able to do the same.

But i need Ganryu to chase after that Chang puss

They could make him chase after the Chang puss without him seeming so pathetic at it. Or they could make him chase after the Chang puss, but add something more to his character.

I know Ganryu is unappealing generally, but he has his moments imo, take out the stalking of the Changs and he's far better than the generic no nonsense bodyguard in 2. Also, Tekken fans have bad taste in characters anyway.

But yeah, it's weird how the earlier games seemed to craft more into the back story and let it go pretty much untold. Now they have the capability to tell interesting stories in game, and they give absolute shit from.the start, or they have a decent build up and fail to deliver.

Like am thinking back to Michelle's T1 ending. Her story was to great revenge on Heihachi for her father, but instead of her ending being about beating Heihachi even more, it's her going back home happy to her mom. Probably not an ending anyone would want in today's standards, but still relative to her story.

Everyone, Lars is getting a wrestling dlc outfit like King, and a special rage art for it. We can start praising Tekken again

Are any of you guys watching the finals on the 12th? I kind of see it as the last ditch hope of legacy characters even with all what's been said, since devs lie all the time to keep surprises e.g. Eliza, Beyond good and evil 2..then again they could just show us the new DBFighterz character after its exhibition. 

Ill watch, but i doubt theyll reveal any damn thing
