If the rumors of the final roster are true then it is a mess. I was already ready to leave Sonya, Johnny, Kenshi and Jax behind when I was introduced to their cute children. And the female department would be so lacking. Sonya, Cass, Mileena, Kitana, D'vorah and Jacqui make it 6/25 which is equally as disappointing as MK9's female count (7/33)

Like why get rid of Jade and give her moves to a Kitana variation while Cassie has a Johnny variation and he's also apparently in the game??? Does the green ninja queen really deserve a slap in the face like this??

Ikr? It makes me mad to think Jade got cut and Johnny and Sonya didn't when she would be so much more unique than them two right now. Holding off being mad bout Kenshi and Jax, because we don't know how their kids play yet. Though.. Frost being in is making me even more annoyed about Jade, an unimportant moodier Sub-Zero with ugly hair is somehow priority over Tanya, Ashrah, Li Mei and Skarlet? I could accept any of them being in over Jade, but not her. I know she's not actually confirmed btw, but it's good to vent. :finnatry:

Omg could you imagine the many people joking about Ashrah wearing Blue and Black. (@)

I don't mind Frost but 3 more ice ninja variations would get on my nerves if she were to be playable. Out of all the non-MK9 females Tanya for sure has the biggest fan-base. Her and Li Mei are popular enough to be playable and get cute makeovers appearance & gameplay wise.

Tanya, Li Mei and Reiko are all my DLC goals tbh.

I love Reiko, but I can't see him being DLC, I don't think he's a fan fave? He could very easily be a boss character, I can't see him genuinely caring for Mileena tbh. 4 DLC, 2 are meant to be classic kombatants and 2 are meant to be guest which is so Fing lame. So I'm thinking 2 fan faves will be held back to guarantee sales.

I can handle guest characters if they're not gross. But that Sweet Tooth clown was already teased so my expectations are low. I spent $5 on Skarlet just to play as another female so if they want my money they better give me at least one. I will give them $30 for Tanya and I'll also DM Boon some nudes.

Idk... Cassie seems different enough from Sonya move wise to allow that. As for Johnny, the only special they share is the nut punch, which am sure will be a stapple for all johnny variations while Cassie only has it in one. Then again, Cassie's takedown is pretty similar to Sonya's from MK9, and once again that is variation exclusive to Cassie.

I saw someone on reddit make a good point. Families are embraced and accepted in other fighters, but as soon as MK starts doing it everyone is pissed. Obvs i didn't like the idea of the children not actually replacing their parent(s), but I'm open to it now. Most probably won't stick around for MK11. And not that it'll have relevance on the future cast for the next games, but i wanna see how many gonna die in this one. Especially the number of new folk. If all 4 of the power rangers make it to the end alive, i'll be impressed.

Sonya can to a lot of stuff, they could fully utilize moves from Tae Kwon Do. I can see her do a lot of things with weapons.

Johnny can use his green energy stuff, cuz Cassie can't do that (which makes it obvious with her intro dialogue with Raiden) besides the Shadow Kick.

They both got potential tho. I'm more interested in Jax and Jacqui and how different they'll be. I can see her with some Cyborg and some nice kick boxing moves. HmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I love Cassie, Sonya and Johnny but I would've rather the parents sat out this one game and return in the next like Tekken 3/Tekken 4. It would've been weird to see Jin, Julia and Forrest in T3 and then having Michelle, Jun, Kazuya and Marshall as unlockables you know?? Its not the fact that they're family that's bothering me, its just that I thought this game was going to be the time for the children to shine for a minute. Kazuya and Jun gave Jin his time now Johnny and Sonya need to do the same for Ms. Cassandra as well as Jax and Kenshi.

I'm also not complaining about clones either since I know their variations will make them different. I saw someone point out Jacqui's arm things look like they might be flamethrowers, and that in a different shot they looked like shot gun gauges. I trust NRS to make the parents different from their children.

Yeah but given how the story spans 25 years, we don't even know how much the parents will get to show their faces. Obvs they'll make it pretty late into the 25 years (but like at least 90% of the story will take place there) due to their aged appearance, but they could be killed off pretty quick or take the back seat. The children seem to be taking centre stage given that trailer, they'll definitely get their moment to shine and more in this game.

I'm not even mad about Johhny and Sonya specifically, I do like them, it's just other fighters didn't shove the entire family in one game. It's hardly similar to other fighters, those were all gradually developed and not necessarily by choice and more because of fan demand.

Either way I have faith we aren't getting 3 clones and never thought we would anyway, but their whole design/character type are going be similar. And I'm sure when people think MK they think Ninja's and Sorcerers and not the Special Force.

I think what has so many pissed is the fact there are so many who gets paid dust that could have had time to shine again.

Kabal
Ashrah

To name a good few.
They easily have enough in the series to return again to replace Sonya,Johnny and Jax to help with the new/old ratio.
Cause while the list is older characters they could easily be new again due to the new mechanics and not being seen in awhile.

How can I be mad that they're playable when that's the best Sonya has ever looked and when Johnny has a fatality like that??? Plus their dialogue in story mode is already looking to be flawless. Slay me Ms. Blade.

Ok, I'm always gonna be a lil sad at how they treated Jade and probs Rain. But I cannot deny how perfect these two look in this game. They definitely aren't fillers, I'm excited for both and Kenshi who just got the most underwhelming reveal ever poor guy, he looks great.

I'm getting a Rugrats vibe from this story. It's like Cassie and co were on a mission to stop Mileena or whoever and got captured and now it's up to the parents to go save their kids. Leading to a finale with the parents and kids fighting side by side.

This is the best Kitana, Mileena, and Sonya have ever looked imo and I can only imagine how great every other girl would look too. I really want to see either Tanya, Sheeva, Li Mei and/or Skarlet as DLC. Could you imagine if they made Sheeva's main costume an even better version of her alt. MK9 costume?? I don't even wanna think about what they would do to Tanya bc I know it would give me a heart attack.

oop I would've thought that was Jade too lmao. Weird that they made her skin and outfit the same exact colors as Jade as well as give her a mask. Plus she's standing behind Sonya and then you see the same model walking behind Johnny so she's def just a random-er. That's fishy though lmao.
