Sassy_Sasquatch wrote:Sure just look at UMvC3 and the amount that has sold. The only people that were gonna buy that were the casuals that missed out on MvC3 and the hardcores, and even than MvC has a ridiculously (and stupidly) large following. SF is the only fighting game that has a bigger followin, and when i say that i am only accountin for hardcores and mainly the western scene.
I don't care about broken messes and if everyone can easily punish certain attacks, they can be patched after release. And even then, balance is ore important for arcade release. This is console, casuals will always outrank the hardcores on the console.
This is what they fail to get, arcades is where balance and all the others things matter.
The arcade scene worldwide other than Japan is dead in the water, so consoles is all we have to look forward to so yes bring on the extra modes and fan favorites.
I love to play competitively but i have not lost my head on why i play videogames in the first place.

Yeah, that tourney player elitism really gets annoying really fast. Another thing that irks me is that people keep saying, "two sword & shield users is too much", or "why Rock? we already have Astaroth", "Amy and Raphael are the same thing!" or "Seong Mina is just a crap version of Kilik" but I don't hear ANYONE complaining about Seigfried and Nightmare. Those two can just as easily (if not more) be considered clones as the rest of the group. Not to mention they were even the same character at one point.
Anyway, reposting this because it's today and I want to remember it.

You can make a fighter that caters to both spectrum's and not favor one over the other.
But one thing that does make sense is about Daishi, before he took up the mantle he was a tournament player worst/best decision ever. Worst cause of how little content there is best cause of the improved gameplay. But that super shit is lame cause you can spam it three times in one match.

I'm actually excited for the critical meter. I think it adds a whole new dimension of mind games to the games, and it also just looks fun. Right now, I think some people still forget about it, because they're not used to it, and that's why they end up using their critical edges on the last round (or maybe they might just be trollin, which is ok with friends).
The one thing that surprises me is that they added GIs to the bar. It almost feel like they are trying to get rid of it for the JG.

I like it, just don't like how you can use that more than once per round.
I agree about the GI, it seems that way.

Plus, alot of people rn't really sure of combos yet or the best positions to use Brave Edge's for. I reckon once people get the hang of the Brave Edge and maybe even a meaty combo from a GI, we'll see the CE's less and less.
I no its not really the same, but how often do u see Super moves in SF4? People would rather use EX moves

Yeah, i totally get what you are saying tenks but unlike SF4 the meter is quicker to gain.
We will see how it will all pan out by the 1st when more skilled players start uploading matches.

Live tournament going on. The audio/video quality is not the best, but it's pretty good gameplay.

Yeah, talking all that shit and lost lol. That was a good match though. Hilde still looks good though, that one move can land a ring out easily so why ban her the first time but not now?.
I call bullshit.

Re: SoulCalibur V hype train has arrived at General land
Well, the game is not really out, so I don't think they can make decisions like that yet.
I wonder if she still needs to charge those moves, or if the input is different now.
